This major new sporting initiative has been inspired by global demand for memorabilia, a market fuelled by football passion. The aim is to offer an unbeatable experience for both fans and collectors.
HWF will hold live auction events at the home of English football Wembley Stadium, St George’s Park in Staffordshire and The National Football Museum. Entries are invited and football fans can find out what their memorabilia is worth at valuation events held across the UK.
HWF builds on the heritage of Hansons Auctioneers which has witnessed many auction highlights thanks to the worldwide popularity of football clubs and legends of the game. It plans to develop this burgeoning sector by making HWF the UK’s number one destination for collectors.
“Football’s modern origins began in England more than 100 years ago in 1863. This rich heritage aligned with the global popularity of the Premier League and the country’s enviable league structure make the UK the perfect place to launch Hansons World Football.”

The new venture will focus on high-value memorabilia and develop its importance as an investment. We are building partnerships with footballers, agents, collectors, ambassadors of the game and private clients to create an auction experience that’s top of the league.
Our goal is to be the best. We plan to make every sale a celebration of football. The dream is to create an unforgettable experience for sellers and buyers alike, a celebration of the great game and England’s football heritage.
HWF is investing in technology to support this venture. There will be a new bidding platform as well as enhanced data analytics to guide decision making. The vision is to make HWF the UK’s leading auction house for high value football memorabilia. We plan to win the respect of collectors and investors based on reputation, trust and experience.
Hansons Auctioneers, which launched in 2005, has developed sporting sales over many years. Headline finds have included Sir Bobby Charlton’s 1966 World Cup semi-final shirt which sold for a total of £59,040. In addition, £26,240 was achieved for a Tottenham shirt worn by Jimmy Greaves in the 1967 FA Cup final and £19,024 for football boots worn by David Beckham in a World Cup qualifying match in 1997.
Our HWF venture is led by Neil Barker, a passionate collector himself, who will build business globally and develop a team of football memorabilia partners and ambassadors.
“We have seen tremendous growth in football collectables from fans and investors alike and we are excited to bring to market unique collections and contribute to sharing memories from the beautiful game.”
